Achari Chicken
- 750 gm chicken-Cut it into medium sized pieces...
- 1 Cup thick yogurt
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 Medium onion-Finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 Large tomato-Finely chopped
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 5-6 bhavnagri chillies
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
For Achari Masala:
- 1 tsp onion seeds
- 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp paprika powder
Method:
- To make Achari Chicken masala dry roast onion seeds,fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds,coriander seeds,fennel seeds till it fragrant...
- Cool and grind to a coarse powder then transfer into a bowl and add paprika powder and mix it well...
- Take a chicken in a bowl.Add yogurt,salt,prepared achari masala and rub it over to the chicken.Set aside for 15 minutes...
- Heat a oil in a non-stick pressure cooker.Add onion and saute it till translucent...
- Add turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste and then saute it again...
- Add tomato and saute it for 4-5 minutes...
- Add red chili powder,garam masala powder,marinated chicken ,1/2 cup water,cook on high heat for 3-5 minutes under pressure cooker or till it pressure releases once(One whistle),reduce the heat and continue cook for 12-15 minutes...
- Add lemon juice to the achari masala and mix well...
- Slit green chilies without cutting through,discard seeds and stuff with prepared mixture...
- Open the cooker when the pressure reduce completely...
- Put the prepared chilies and mix well again cook on low heat for 5 minutes...
- After 5 minutes Achari Chicken will ready to have a bite enjoy with Indian bread or naan...
